In light of all that is going on in the world right now, in particular last week’s terrorist attacks in the city of Paris, France, Facebook has allowed its users to change their profile pictures to the colors of the French flag. However, there is a big disagreement, and while those who disagree are 100% entitled to disagree, I am one of those people who did. Here’s what I have to say about it….
“A lot of people on social media have expressed anger, disgust, or whatever other emotion to people changing their profile pictures to the colors of the French flag after the recent terrorist attacks in Paris. To me, it is not only a symbol of solidarity with Parisians but of solidarity with everyone in this world who is suffering because of things that are out of their control- political turmoil, terrorism, racism, sexism, and just pure hatred. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and to express it as they see fit, but that’s just my two cents. I hope to always preach love, acceptance, positivity, and light in a time when peace is – unfortunately- not the norm. I encourage all of my friends to do the same.”
