I didn’t even realize until I looked at back through my photos that today was full of adventures. After a normal morning of classes, I met my Spanish Culture and Civilization class at the National Archeological Museum. It’s definitely a LOT to take in all at once but the substitute teacher that came with us is a historian or sociologist of some sort so she knew what she was talking about, making the trip more interesting.
Later, Shelby and I decided to go try out yoga in the park off of Templo de Debod. I wasn’t totally sure exactly where this area was so when I got off the metro I was asking around for directions, as I usually do. The first woman I asked was just out for a walk so she was nice enough to walk me all the way (about ten minutes) to the park. We chatted in Spanish the whole time and she told me all about the history of the temple and other parts of the city. She even stopped to pet a lil pup- that’s when I knew she was my kind of lady. It was probably the best part of my day! My new friend María led me right to Shelby at the park and for once I wasn’t late! Who would’ve thought.
We found the yoga class on the site MeetUp, our new obsession, and it was a lot of fun! The instructor was great and the environment was quite relaxing. I was also interested to see that there were more males than females in attendance. Yoga really is for everyone!
It’s really cool to branch out and try things here that you might do at home because they are different. Obviously the class was in Spanish, which made it even better. AND it was at sunset with cute doggies running around. And then later in the evening I met my friends at 100 Montaditos for beers. Much needed //
