Last night we went out to a popular club, Joy, and danced the night away. You don’t have to be drunk to enjoy a night in Madrid. Unlike at home, the nightlife is often about social drinking (instead of pounding drink after drink) and, as corny as it may sound, enjoying time with your friends. We got to dance up on the stage and Sam and I spent most of the night singing and dancing on the pedestal in the middle of the dance floor with a group of gay guys who were so much fun!
Just as we felt like maybe we were over it, our French friends showed up and the party got started all over again. We were all having such a blast together chanting “CIS” and jumping around like maniacs for four hours. By the time we left and were searching the plaza for a late night (or early morning, depending on how you look at it) snack, my legs hurt so bad I could barely walk. BUT it was worth every second! We left the club in time to take the metro home after it opened at 6am and I was finally in bed around 7:30 after fighting sleep on the metro. Talk about one hell of a night…. cheers to new friends and new adventures!
