This post is adapted from a piece I wrote for the 2016 Mind Body Dialogues performance at Endicott College. I was always a little bigger growing up. Have you ever created a focus word for the year? 2016 was the first year I did it – the year of ambition – and I loved having a mantra to help me push through the times I wasn’t feeling so ambitious. This year I’ve created a new focus and I urge you to do

Start embracing Mondays - #MakethemostofyourMonday
Ahhhh, Monday! The start of a new week. A fresh page, a blank slate. If you’re rolling your eyes or yawning or thinking, this lady is crazy… I hate Mondays, just hear me out for a sec. Sure, the last thing I want to do is peel myself out of my suddenly extra comfortable bed to

New Year’s resolutions revisited

Happy Spring Semester! Though it’s not looking much like spring at all, it’s good to be back at Endicott. I’m continuing to write for the Endicott Observer newspaper and here’s the text of my latest article: (drawing by: @maddiegalaxy)
One of my goals for the new year is to take a good look at all the products I own and transition to cruelty-free, more natural products. Understandably, it is not a one-day transition because we use so many products on our face and body daily and it’s tough to sift through all the unhealthy

Running spots in Miraflores

Lima, Peru I’ve been slacking on my running this summer so no wonder I haven’t felt like myself lately. I’m lucky enough to be in Miraflores, Peru- the district in Lima where my Nona lives- and I had a fabulous run in the parks that overlook the ocean this afternoon: Parque el Faro (lighthouse park) and
