I don’t know about you but August snuck up on me. All summer I felt like I was looking forward to August because, for me, that was when all the big things were happening. Well, August, you came in with a bang! This month Tommy and I moved in to our first apartment and spent a wonderful week off from work decorating it and relishing in the magic and excitement of having a place of our own. We celebrated by having friends and family over and feeding them some vegan deliciousness. Cooking in my own kitchen…. organizing and starting to create an outward expression of the two of us…. using and loving every inch of our new home… it all feels like breathing a sigh of relief.
August was big for both Tommy and I even besides moving. He started at his new job and settled into life in CT (he’s from MA)! After being back to nannying for two weeks, it was time for me to say goodbye to my munchkins and hello to grad school. My Master of Arts in Teaching program at Quinnipiac University (wow so official!!!) includes an internship at a nearby elementary school. Basically, I’m a full-time teacher during the day and a full-time student at night. It’s about to be a challenging school year but I’m feeling very “bring it on” about the whole thing. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to teach alongside experienced educators who can help me on the path to becoming the best teacher I can be for my students! Can you tell I’m excited!?
My live-in Geek Squad/boyfriend installed a dope home theater system in our new place so I’ve been blasting alllll sorts of jams this month. Check out my latest playlist:
